Recreational:
There are 3 levels of Recreational Gymnastics. Each level has milestones that must be achieved to move up:
Beginner (ages 6 - 13):
- This is where everyone starts. No experience necessary! The Beginner class is where gymnasts start to learn basic skills on the Olympic Events. For girls: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise. For boys: Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar.
Advanced Beginner (ages 6 - 13):
- Gymnasts that have started to master the basics move up to this level. Skills become a bit more challenging and exciting. Athletes are introduced to walkovers, handsprings, and beam tumbling here.
Intermediate (ages 8 - 13):
- A mastery of lower level skills is required to move up to this level. At 90 minutes the Intermediate class is longer and more challenging than the Beginner levels. Athletes will begin focusing on ever more difficult skills and skill sequences.
